New year approaching

I've always made last minute resolutions for the new year that I give up because they mean nothing. I don't blame the last two years on that, but I really want to change something this year. I haven't enjoyed the last few years due to personal reasons but this year, well next, I'm going to be happier.
I know, easy to say, but I believe that if you change your mindset it will change your life. If I think positive then I believe I can make my life happier and my mind a happier place, like brain training I guess.
So I have decided to write a blog post every day, with a positive story or moment or happening from that day. So when I look back at the end of the year, I will have created my own little 'book' or diary (without the personal bits). I want to do this for myself, but I'd love for other people to read and feel inspired to do something simular!
I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and enjoys the rest of your 2014!!!
Untill next time,

The tricky business of hair

Hey guys,
So you all know from a previous blog that I have been slowely getting my hair back to blonde. Now this week I have an appointment to get it done again, but as it is in unhealthy condition at the moment I need to get it cut. Now I could get it trimmed, or layers, feathered, fringe, no fringe, get it cut short?!
I don't know, I'm a very 'leave it to the last minute' girl, I can't make decisions and especially on hair. I'm not good with hair, I could do makeup all day, I love beauty, but when it comes to hair? I know jack squat!!
But I think I've decided to take it short, this is a big decision for me and I've always wanted long hair, but because it is thin and dry, having it cut short is the best decision for me.
But how short? I've searched and searched on Pinterest to gather some ideas and these are a few I found...

This summer, it seemed to come into 'fashion' to have shorter hair, but isn't it always like that in summer? I'm really not in with hair. Lots of girls have long luscious hair throughout the summer, get that beachy look, but then lots get it cut shorter because of the heat and convenience?!
What do you do? Do you change your hair in the summer? Get it cut differently?
Well now of course it's autumn and Im stuck for decisions!
My appointments on Wednesday, wish me luck;) (get so nervous having my hair done incase something goes wrong, not fishing for sympathy that's unnesecary haha)
Will write again soon,
Untill then, thank you,

Disrespect within Karen Millan

Hey guys,
It's been a while since I posted, things have been very hectic and I completely admire anyone who blogs or makes videos while they are studying at college, school or uni. I find little time to post regularly. College/school/work is hard. Everyone has personal battles that have to face everyday that they may choose not to share with people on a blog.
Most students will struggle with money and being a girl and obsessing over new beauty products it's hard to save money. Which is why I recently handed out my cv to a few shops in my area. When I went to apply for Karen Millan in Colchester, I found that the manager was looking for an applicant, and gave a date to come in for a chat about 'availability' as she said... Now I didn't get my hopes up, however what do you think if someone asks to talk availability??? A bit misleading in my opinion.
I had a very good interview and I felt confident leaving as she has given me a date for a job trial.
When I had my trial it was very unfortunate, they didn't have very many customers so to be fair to the manager it would have been hard to judge my capability.
After the trial(on the Saturday) she told me that in fact I would be told if I had got the job or not on the next Monday. That monday came and went and so I took it upon myself to go in, the first time the manager was not in, so the following day I went in again and asked. She told me 'not to be confused sweet' and that I will be told the next Monday when contracts are sent out. That was last Monday that has just gone and I have not heard anything back. Now I am very disappointed in the way they treated me.
I admit that it may have been over ambitious to apply for Karen Millan as a first job for a sixteen year old. But never the less I still deserved respect that I did not get.
Karen Millan is a high end shop and many people have told me that their experience with employees has been very negative.
I am very upset with the service they gave me. I hope this post gives you a veiw into Karen Millan. Is this how Karen Millan have treated any of you?!
Hope to post again soon,
Sorry this has been such a rant,
Untill next time,

Washing your makeup brushes

Hey guys,
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, things have been soo hectic!
Anyway, it got to the time that I needed to clean my makeup brushes, I try to do it once a week/every two weeks. So I thought I'd show you how I do it!
I have a few real techniques brushes and have always struggled to clean them properly, however recently I was told to you olive oil to remove the product! It works wonders!!
First of all, I roll the ends of a towel inwards so you can rest your brushes on an angle to drain the water out of the barrel.
I then fill two small cups with olive oil and fairy liquid (I always pick my favourite scent so my brushes smell fresh). I then put on my marigold gloves so I don't get wrinkles on my fingers (as I've always called them, fairies;))
I then fill a large bowel full of warm water to rinse the brushes off in, which you must change when you feel adequate.
I would dip the dirty brush in the oil, swirl it round in my hand while rinsing it in the water untill the liquid draining from the brush is clear-ish, I then do the same in the fairy liquid! Finally I then squeeze as much water from the brush as I can, make sure the bristles are in the right shape and place them on the towel. Here are pictures of how I clean my makeup brushes, I hope this helps you with new tips!

Will try and post again soon!

MEGA EFFECTS

Hey guys,
Sorry I haven't posted recently, everything's been so hectic with college and keeping up with it all is so difficult, much harder than I anticipated. It's so nice to find some time out to write in my own little bubble, to you guys reading!
So I recently ordered an AVON mascara that I've heard mixed reviews on. It's the new mega effects that has recently been brought out.
Now some people hate it and some people love it. Personally I think it's amazing, I enjoy using it so much and it is probably very close to being my number one favourite mascara which says a lot! Because of its unique wand, not being the traditional, it means you can coat every lash without fail. It is quite a 'wet' mascara and so I find you have to put a second coat on once the first goes tacky! It's such a brilliant product and I couldn't recommend it any more.

Thanks for tuning in guys!!

I discovered something

Hey guys,
Everything's been getting so busy with college, I spend weekdays there and usually every evening is spent revising what I've done or doing homework! I find there's little time do do simple tasks like keep on top of the tidiness of my room and make something nice to eat if no one else is home as my mum works alot.
I found this new invention (kinda), I know other people have done it before but I was peckish and wanted something delicious! The outcome was this...

I grilled asparagus in a teaspoon of oil for approximately 5-10 minutes. When they started to go brown I squeezed half a lemon over them in the pan untill it stopped sizzling, when I then sprinkled a few pinches of oregano over them. Once they weren't crunchy anymore I took them off the heat and wrapped them in Parma ham!!!
DELICIOUS! I would recommend this highly it was so quick and easy, and I also found it to be filling!

The best of Starbucks

Hey guys,
So after being at college for a week now, I finally made the plunge to pop into Starbucks (as it is so busy at lunch time). When walking through the door I could see on the board their Autumn menu has switched round and my FAVOURITE drink is back on the menu!!! The pumpkin spice latte, it is to die for. So warming on a cold but sunny day like today, the spices work perfectly with the coffee and pumpkin. Pumpkin is my favourite, YUM! Especially pumpkin pie, my favourite part of the Halloween time that's approaching!! I am very excited!

Starbucks makes me so happy, I get very carried away, and as I was queing I noticed an interesting pot of what looked like yoghurt with fruit on top! IT LOOKED DELICOUS! I had to have it. So I did.

It was Greek yoghurt, with oats, apple and lots of berries like cranberries blueberries, also pomegranate and pumpkin seeds!! My new found food favourite find!!! What a tongue twister? haha.
I would recommend this to anyone, especially as the environment is busy but relaxing too, I love going there to drink, eat and work in my free periods or lunch.

I hope this inspires you to go to lunch at Starbucks or to try something new there!

A pop of colour

Hey guys,
So after recently starting college I've realised how 'bland' my wardrobe is and the variety of colour is definitely lacking. I've always been a fan of having a pop of colour to 'jazz' up an outfit. So I decided to dig out my blazers. I'm a girl that likes to wear blouses, shirts and a blazer, for me I only wear tshirts on lazy days as they don't suit me and make me look slobby.
My blazers were always a staple to any outfit of mine. When I realised that they were dirty I sent them to the dry cleaners as I've made the mistake of washing them at home before. It was quite expensive but I couldn't wait to be able to wear them again.
Having a good variety of colour can brighten up an outfit and make a big change whether to make it more smart, dressy, pretty, elegant, or colourful.
I would recommend using blazers or jackets to change up an outfit to anyone who doesn't have the confidence to yet experiment with bright colours!
Here's my few blazers that I own, you can find them in so many colours now so start with maybe white and then you can work your way to more outgoing colours like I did. In the mean time don't forget to check out my YouTube video http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B8yiELP54Zg

Tresemme keratin beautiful oil review

Hey guys,
Haven't posted in a while, started college this week and it's all been so full on. Sometimes it's nice to just sit and write and have a bit of time away from the outside world.
After doing my first YouTube video on my August favourites...
I decided to write a review on a new found hair product.

Since I have died my hair blonde, it has been so dry and very brittle, I've used all different oils but I've found this to be solving the problem.
This is not a product that is an instant problem solver, I find that it's working overtime. It's a nice consistency, it isn't too oily, neither too 'gloopy'. It works wonders on my hair, and the day after I've used it I can really tell the difference,
However my main issue with this product is that it leaves your hands very sticky and also if you have long hair, and it touches your chest while it's recently been applied to your hair, that will also be left sticky.
Overall, it's a good product that leaves your hair in good condition, silky, shiny and smooth! This could very nearly be a girls best friend if it wasn't so sticky when it dried on your skin!

Anyway thanks for taking time out to read this. I hope this either persuades you to buy it or if you don't like having sticky hand like me, will allow you to think twice. It's a love hate relationship with this hair serum, I love what it does to my hair but not how it leaves my hands.

Will hopefully write again soon,
Untill then,

Bag essentials

Hiyaa,

So tomorrow I start college. I've spent the last few days getting everything prepared and ready so to make sure I don't panick on the day that I've forgotten something.

Now aswell as stationary and the typical items that you would take to college or school, I've packed little bags full of essentials.

This pretty little purse, I got free when I brought Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream from the perfume shop! It's a handy little size for what I have put in it. This one I have put in items needed in an 'emergency' scenario. I've included in it:
Tissues, wet wipes, plasters, paracetamol, mints, mini perfum (mac turquatic and daisy dream), typical female sanitary 'stuff', mini deodorant and a card with phone numbers I may need if something were to happen i.e mums, dads and Sams.

In this next little purse which is actually a pencil case is my 'beauty' items. I got this because I love love love flamingos. And it was only a pound from Wilkinsons!! In it I've included...
Mini foundation sample, powder, concealer, pencil eyeliner, liquid eyeliner, mini eyelash glue, lipbalm, nail file, nail varnish remover pads, bobby pins and a hair band just incase!

I will probably come across more items to include in the future and I will keep you updated on them but I hope this helps a few of you to know what to include in your bag when packing it for school college or even a day to day basis!

Good luck to any of you starting college or school or going back to work!!

I'll write again soon, but untill then...

Scrapbook inspiration

'Eya,

DIY is one off favourite things to do. I love doing arts and crafts I'm just not very talented in that area.

I've always created memoirs and photo albums of events and holidays or adventures. But when I found I had no more room for the cards and flowers I had pressed from Sam I decided to make a scrap book. I brought an A3 folder from paper chase and began decorating it.

The idea of scrapbooking isn't to make it perfect it's about creating something that holds memories that you can look back on and keep forever!

You can put anything in a scrapbook, I've put in small flat stones that I've collected form beaches, pressed flowers, cards, photos even train tickets and sweet wrappers. Me and Sam had a list of things we wanted to do together, sort of like a bucket list which we put at the back of the scrapbook!

Before starting your scrapbook, collect together things that you can put in and start drafting ways of decorating it. I've used stencils, paint, silver, bronze, gold and black pens. I use scraps of old material and stickers and buttons. I've recently managed to create a full drawer of things that I can use to decorate it, some that I've had since I was really little.

Scrapbooks are a great way to collect memories together, they don't even have to have to be for you personally, they make great gifts for friends and family and don't cost much!  Everything I've included in my scrapbook has a meaning behind it, and by using decorative pens and paints I've written the meaning next to the item so I will never forget the meaning.

Scrapbooks can be so versitile and enjoyable. I could spend hours making it just right!

I hope this helps someone and gives even one person inspiration to create their own scrapbook. Below are a few pictures from the scrapbook I created of me and Sam.

Brown to blonde: my experience with foils

Hey guys,
I've been contemplating making a decision for some time now. About 18 months ago I had beautiful, long, luscious blonde hair, I made a stupid decision to go brown, (I wanted to experiment, see what suites me best). I further went on to dye my hair red, and Aubergine.
However over the last 10 months I have craved to be blonde again. I was such a confident person when I was blonde, now It may just have been a point in my life that I was confident with, or my hair may have been a contributing factor. Girls you will understand that.
I did some research to find where and how I could go back to blonde. I could choose a bleach bath or a full head of foils. I opted for foils as they are less likely to dry your hair out as fast. Foils are expensive and will need to be repeated again in a couple of months to get to the desired colour I want.
I went to my salon today, Ego, and my lovely hairdressers spent an hour applying a full head of foils. I had a 6 applied. (Don't know what that means but that's the strength of dye or something). I was in there for over 2 hours so if you have them done make sure to occupy yourself! I was worried that because I had dark hair and foils don't cover all your hair in dye that it would be stripy. But as Kerry (my hairdresser) washed it off, it stripped the red off with it. I am so pleased with the result and if any of you are contemplating going from brown or red back to blonde I would highly request this process!
I hope this helped, here are a few pictures of the process and end result!

HAUL!

Hey,
3rd day in a row I've blogged?! Already think I'm addicted to this.
But anyway, I've been shopping today, and if any of you out there live near Essex you will probably have heard of Lakeside shopping centre, and that's where I went! I'm starting college next week and needed to update my wardrobe, it was not ready for sixth form. As it's autumn coming up and the weathers changing here in England it was very necessary to get warmer clothes to be prepared as I will be walking everyday.
This is what I brought...
Pink jumper from Topshop, the photo doesn't do it justice. The detail on the hem at the bottom is so delicate, and the colour is so pretty.

Another woolen jumper from Topshop, it's thick, warm and ridiculously soft. Can't wait to wear it out!!

Two pairs of jeans from Topshop, you can never have too many... Eh'?!!

I purchased a cardigan/blazer from MissSelfridge, it's very different and very out there but also very me.

I next strolled into Primark, and brought two sleeveless blouses in black and white, simple items, vital for any wardrobe.

And the white version.

As the cooler months are approaching do you really have to justify a pink hat?! I couldn't resist.

I am a huge fan of necklaces, I believe they make an outfit! So I brought these from Primark as they look expensive but didn't cost as much as higher end stores.

Shoes are always a must, I thought these would go with so much and are a great wardrobe staple!

Another pair of pumps, I've already got a pair like these in pink but with autumn around the corner dark colours are always nice.

Now I'm so undecided about these at the moment. They were only from primark so weren't expensive. Not sure if I will be able to pull them off. I thought they would look good with jeans and a blouse to dress down an outfit!!

I also brought four vest tops, two black and two white. Nothing special but definitely a wardrobe must-have. Primark is great!!

Ahh I really love blogging, this really will be great! Thanks guys, write soon,
